Results of the open call for the AiR Goyki 3 program in 2026

In the open call for the AiR Goyki 3 artist residency program for 2026, a total of 235 people applied — 68 in the field of literature and 167 in the visual arts. Thank you for such strong interest in the program.

The applications were marked by a high substantive level and a broad range of references to the Goyki 3 headquarters, Sopot, the surrounding nature, and the socio-political realities of Poland and the Central and Eastern European region.

After reviewing all formally qualified applications and following deliberations, the literary and visual juries have decided to award the 2026 residencies to the following individuals:

Season 11 (Spring)

Iza Michalewicz (literature) – reporter and writer, associated for more than twenty years with the largest press titles in Poland. She has written, among others, for Polityka, Newsweek, Przekrój, Polska The Times, and Gazeta Wyborcza (Duży Format). She is a master of reportage. A laureate of many awards, including Grand Press (2011) for the reportage of the year “Jolanta and Fire” (also nominated for this award three more times), and a finalist of the Ryszard Kapuściński Award for Literary Reportage (2015). She is currently working on a book about Sopot’s Forest Opera and hosts the reportage podcast “Documented Fairy Tales,” available on YouTube and Spotify. These are uncensored stories about violence against women and children, about the world of crime and abuse, about what seems impossible yet truly happened.

Daga Urman (visual arts) – visual artist and creator of objects and installations. A graduate (MA) of Media Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she defended her diploma with a Rector’s Distinction (2025). Simultaneously a graduate of the Interdepartmental Action Studio, within which she developed projects at the Municipal Gallery Arsenał in Poznań and Galeria Arsenał in Białystok (2024/25). She completed her BA in Fashion Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź (2022). Her exhibition I’m so Popular! presented within SOON_80 took place at the Starak Family Foundation Spectra Art Space (2025). She co-created video work for the Oświęcim Human Rights Center project. She participated in the Experimental Text exhibition of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at the Museum of Wola and the PSW Foundation (2024/25). She qualified for the FRINGE performance program in Warsaw (2025). In her practice she explores themes of luxury, nostalgia, and the aesthetics of the 1990s transformation era.

Season 12 (Autumn)

Justyna Hrycyk (literature) – writer, artist, curator of leisure, pastry enthusiast, and die-hard fan of ghost-shaped crisps. She graduated from the Wrocław Medical University with a degree in medicine. In her work she focuses on themes of relationships and memories filtered through the empirical prism of the body. She is the author of the prose book “girl dinner” (Cyranka Publishing, debuting in spring 2026). Her favorite quote is “everything everywhere all at once.” She lives with one foot in the countryside and the other in the city; currently, briefly, in Warsaw.

Wojciech Tubaja (visual arts) – director of artistic films, always centered on the human being. He has created work in Poland, Japan, and Italy, carrying with him the diverse visual languages of these places and shaping them into his own distinctive storytelling method. As a producer and art director — from music videos to fashion shoots — he combines keen attention to detail with the ability to build clear, evocative narratives. Running the Pinokio Models agency, he supports people and their talents, creating space for their growth and collaboration. He operates at the intersection of cinema, fashion, and visual arts — without pathos, but with consistent sensitivity to form. His projects blend craftsmanship, emotion, and storytelling.
